THE NEAT HELPERS GUIDE

Kit care guide

Care for the tool after each task. Remove trapped debris, follow the instructions for the particular material and let permitted washable parts dry fully before storage. The notes below support the care instructions supplied with each kit.

Split AC covers, hoses and tools

Keep the appliance off and disconnected while removing the cleaning setup. Drain covers and hoses into a suitable container without letting runoff reach electrical parts. Clean them only by a method their instructions allow, then open them out to dry fully before packing away. Remove debris from brushes and check cover seams, hose connections and tool heads for damage. Do not restore the unit's power until cleaned parts are dry and its manufacturer instructions permit it. Internal servicing and electrical repair require a qualified professional.

Pet hair scrapers

Clear collected hair from each edge after use. Check copper edges and serrated heads for burrs, trapped grit or looseness before using them on another fabric. Rinse only where the tool instructions permit, then dry the tool fully before placing it in the blue storage bag. Use light pressure and test a hidden area each time the fabric or finish changes. Avoid looped, delicate and easily snagged fabrics; do not use the tools on an animal's body.

Leather shoe brushes and cloth

Remove dry dust and grit gently from the horsehair and detail brushes. Keep bristles free of contamination and store the heads without crushing them. Do not soak the wooden brush bodies or horsehair unless their supplied instructions expressly allow it. Care for the grey cloth according to its label and check it for grit before touching finished leather. If a round dauber is used with a separately supplied permitted shoe product, keep it dedicated to that product and follow its care instructions.

Glass washer, squeegee, handle and bucket

Clear grit from the washer and squeegee before and after use. Clean the washer only as its instructions allow, rinse permitted surfaces and let them dry. Wipe the squeegee edge gently and check it for splits or embedded debris. Empty the bucket after the job. Dry the steel handle and check its connections before storing or reassembling it. Replace a damaged edge or loose part before the next glass-cleaning task.

Bottle and spout brushes

Remove trapped residue without bending the brush shaft or pulling out bristles. Wash or rinse only as permitted by the brush and container instructions, then allow the head and shaft to dry in an open, suitable place. Store without bending fine heads. Check for broken bristles or exposed sharp wire before placing a brush inside a bottle or spout. Keep these brushes dedicated to kitchen items.

Keep the jobs separate

Do not transfer tools used for AC runoff, shoes or pet hair to food-contact cleaning. Keep dirty tools apart from clean ones and do not seal damp tools in a bag or container. No tool should be assumed suitable for soaking, boiling or dishwasher cleaning without explicit instructions.

Inspect before reuse

Pause if a handle or head is loose, an edge is damaged, bristles are broken or grit cannot be removed. A worn or contaminated tool may mark the next surface. Replace the affected part or tool as appropriate before continuing.
