A practical checklist for deliveries, model numbers, parts, workspace, lift access, anti-tip fixing, missing parts and the completion check.

Have the delivery and information ready
Delivery and assembly are separate arrangements. Confirm that every package has arrived inside the home and keep the listing, model, parts list and instructions. A multi-box item is not complete just because one box has arrived. Explain which items are on site and which are still awaiting delivery.
Clear the workspace and access route
Check the final position, surrounding space, doorways, corridors and lift access. Some units are assembled flat before being raised, so their finished width alone does not establish the workspace needed. Follow the model instructions and site assessment. Discuss alternatives before work if there is insufficient safe space.
Discuss anti-tip fixing beforehand
Manufacturer-required fixing depends on suitable site conditions. Confirm the wall, intended fixing point, appropriate fittings and any landlord or building-management permission. A wall photograph cannot establish concealed services, structure or fixing suitability. If safe fixing is not possible, limitations and next steps are discussed first.
If a package is damaged or parts are missing
Keep packaging and part numbers, take clear photos and ask the seller about replacements or a resolution. Do not modify holes, cut components or discard unidentified parts first. Affected assembly work is paused while replacement parts, another visit or other options and any costs are agreed. Unfinished work is not recorded as completed.
Be available for decisions and the final check
Have someone authorised to agree the work and inspect it present. Check stability, legs, hinges, drawers and moving parts as applicable, along with anti-tip fixing, packaging removal and the agreed scope. Pay the confirmed quotation after checking together. For later questions, keep photos and details so the cause, solution and any charges can be assessed.
