Compare the same furniture and scope
Two wardrobes may have different doors, drawers, sliding mechanisms and fittings. Share the exact model, listing, finished-product image and instructions, then list quantities. Retailer assembly packages and independent visits can have different conditions. A headline starting price does not establish the total for your items.
Percentage pricing or a per-item quotation?
Some retailers calculate assembly as a proportion of product value, subject to their own products and delivery arrangements. Independent quotations may depend on category, dimensions, construction and quantity. Record the charging basis, minimum, included work and extras rather than treating unlike starting prices as equivalent offers.
How the Neat Helpers minimum works
Write down the item subtotal, how the visit minimum applies and the separate tasks. A minimum is a floor for the subtotal, rather than another full call-out charge to add. Use the pricing page to estimate the same set of furniture, then check whether each written quotation includes fixing, fittings or packaging removal.
List additional work separately
Check anti-tip fixing, drilling, fittings, packaging removal, lift access and the route to the room. Manufacturer-required fixing is still required when an optional estimate item has not been selected. Our service does not include delivery, hoisting, dismantling old furniture, plumbing, electrical, bathroom or stone work.
Check the written quotation
Review models, quantities, access, scope, extras, total and the proposed date. Standard assembly requires no deposit and is paid after the completion check at the agreed price. Missing parts, damage or extra work are discussed with any cost implications before continuing. A preferred date is not a confirmed appointment.
